Fresh Ideas for Spring 2025 Weddings
Wedding season is full speed ahead! Here’s a roundup of this year’s head-turners that we can’t get enough of.
1. Renting over Buying
It’s not often that something checks all three boxes of helping your wallet, the environment, AND more convenient. But ever since Rent the Runway made a splash, many companies have followed suit. The format makes SO much sense for weddings, where you really only need things for one weekend.
You can rent the classic items like linens, tables, and chairs; but also consider expanding your rental order to include flowers, arbors, signage, photo and video solutions, and even your bridal outfits.
2. Color, Color, Everywhere!
Color and personality are here to stay. Chances are, if you are getting married, you know a few other people who have also had weddings in the past year — or will be tying the knot soon after you. To fight wedding fatigue — AND have more fun, incorporate as much personality into your wedding as possible. Everything from themes to colors or personal activities can turn a generic wedding into an iconic event to remember. Where we love seeing color show up: Attire, Flowers, Linens, Stationary, Furniture, or the Venue itself!
3. Handwritten Notes
Want to make your guests feel extra special? Consider leaving a personal note at their place setting. Some couples are taking the idea of escort cards and making it a sweet way to let your guests know that you are glad they are celebrating with you. On a day where most of the focus is on you, friends and family really appreciate that you took the time to think of them, even in a small way. Pro tip: avoid a hand cramp by spacing out writing these over a few weeks.
4. Last Dance
A last dance can serve two purposes. One, you’ll get a rare moment alone with your partner at the end of the busy night to savor all the memories. Two, it provides a logistical advantage when inviting your guests to participate in a send-off, because they will have a couple minutes to assemble, get the sparklers lit, and get set before you come out. It checks all the boxes!
5. Bringing the 80’s Back
Your mother’s wedding dress might not be for you, but we’re seeing the 80’s inspiration coming back in a big way! The drama of sleeves, draping, reflective materials, and the over-the-top maximalism is coming back around. In fact, at this year’s Bridal Fashion Week, the 80’s fashion callbacks had a strong showing.
6. Experiential Additions
Couples are adding thoughtful elements to the guest experience. Some are primarily focused on the guests, some are focused on the couples, and some do both! Live painters of the couple or quick guest portraits, flash tattoo bars, games during cocktail hour, interactive food or beverage stations, or documentary-style video interviews bring the fun to your one-of-a-kind party!
So many decisions go in to planning the day of your wedding, but most importantly, it should reflect you, your partner, and the people you want to celebrate with.
