At Voast, we want to help you collect the moments that matter with as much ease as possible, and we know that approaching a new product or service can seem daunting at first.
Our logistics coordinator, Celia, has worked with hundreds of clients and overseen events of all kinds. We asked her to tally up the most common questions that customers ask — here’s what she had to say.

1. Can I rent the video booth for just a couple days/hours?
Due to our weekly shipping schedule the only two rental options at this time are Standard and Extended. We don’t currently offer daily or hourly renting. Here is a breakdown of each rental option.
The Standard Rental is great for any weekend event. With this option you will receive the video booth the Thursday before your event. You will have from Friday-Monday to use the video booth as often as you’d like. By the end of the day Monday, you will then drop off the video booth package at a UPS store for return.
The Extended rental is for any event on or before Thursday, essentially any event that occurs during the week. You will receive your video booth the Thursday before your event date, and then will have a full week to use the video booth as often as you’d like. By the end of the day Monday, you will then drop off the video booth package at a UPS store for return.
2. Should I get the Story edit or Pro edit, what’s the difference?
If you’ve had a chance to look through some of the features on our website you may have seen two different editing options and wondered what the difference is, or which one you should get for your specific event needs. Here’s a breakdown of each option to help you understand which one is right for you!
The Story edit is for those of you who are excited about getting Voasts (Video + Toast) from all your people but are dreading having to figure out what to do with them. The Story Edit takes all your footage and strikes the perfect balance between showing a little bit of everyone and highlighting all the best bits in a 3-4 minute video. Our video editors start on this work as soon as your video booth is returned to get your edit complete in under 30 days.
The Pro Edit is for those of you who already have a specific vision for what you want your Voast collection to look like and need a dedicated editor to pull it all together for you. This option provides you with up to 20 hours of a senior Voast editor’s time during which you can interact directly with them to craft whatever vision you may have for your Voast edit. This may look like integration of your custom graphics, branding, or use of a particular soundtrack you’d prefer.
p.s. We always recommend this for corporate events!
3. How will I receive my edit? Will I get the raw clips as well?
Once we have received your video booth back and we process your return, our editors will get started working on your edit. It usually takes around 4 weeks to finish your edit, and once it’s complete we will email you a link to your edit as well as your raw clips!
If you decide to not get an edit, you will receive your raw clips upon the return of your video booth. If you need your raw clips sooner than this, please reach out to us!
4. Does the Voast Booth take photos too?
You asked for it and we listened! The Voast booth is more than just a video booth, it can now take still photos of your guests to capture an array of moments that may have otherwise gone unnoticed. Once your guest completes their recorded interview, there will be an option for them to also take photos, just like a photo booth!
5. Can guests receive copies of their clips & photos?
Your guests will have the option to receive their media (videos and photos) via SMS immediately after their interview. There will be a prompt that asks them to enter their phone number and they should receive their media shortly after entering their contact information.
6. Can the video booth collect user data like name and email?
Depending on the nature of your event, we know how helpful it can be to have a way to collect some basic contact information from your guests. That’s why we offer a way to collect specific interviewee data like, name, email, phone number… etc. through a prompt that will appear at the beginning of the interview session. 7. Is there a recording limit?
At Voast, our mission is to capture the moments that matter, and we want to give your guests the floor to express themselves so you can have these memories for years to come. Your guests will have three minutes to record their response to each prompt.
We can adjust this time requirement if you would like to make it longer or shorter, just reach out to us and let us know!
8. Can I use the video booth before and after my main event?
Once the video booth package arrives at your door you are free to start using it right away, and all the way up to the point of return (the Monday after your event)! We do ask that you only use the video booth for gatherings related to your main event.
For example, if you are using the video booth for your wedding you can also use the booth at your rehearsal dinner, wedding related cocktail hour..etc. If you can refrain from using the booth at an unrelated event, that will make the editors jobs a lot easier as to not have to sort through clips that you don’t want in your final edit.
9. Can the video booth be used at a noisy event?
At Voast we know that your events are a place to celebrate, and that usually means music, talking, laughing, you name it! The Voast booth is designed to accommodate these conditions, and we even have a guide to help you find the best possible placement that is far enough away from the noise, and close enough that people will see and interact with the booth.
Another benefit of booking an edit is that our editors can work some real magic with sound adjustments and the addition of captions for better comprehension.
10. Ok, I've booked, what’s next?
So you’ve decided to book a Voast booth! We’re so excited to have you on board with us.
Once you book, we will review and confirm your order to make sure everything looks good. Then you will receive a follow up email with a customer portal link. This portal is where you will tell us exactly what you want on your video booth configuration. This form will ask you to enter details like your cover image (seen on the front screen of your video booth), your custom prompt selections (up to 6 prompts per booth), and your shipping and return addresses.
