What is a Video Guest Book?
Video Guest Books are new to the event space lexicon. At Voast, we like to think of a video guest book as the modern version of the typical, pen and paper, handwritten book used to gather messages of well-wishes from guests at an event. Guest books are commonplace at weddings, but they’re also commonly used at retirements, graduations, birthdays… you get it - any event celebrating special milestones.
Used to capture the moments that matter most, video guest books are different because they capture the exact moment in time a guest is leaving you a message.
No matter the sentiment, love, laughter, or tear-jerking, the true emotion behind a video guest book message will be captured. Imagine, your mother giving you advice on your wedding day, your rowdy friends from college roasting you with inside jokes, and your drunk uncle cheers-ing (again) to his appreciation for the open bar. Regardless of the event, hosts rarely have time to spend special moments with each guest. With a video guest book, you can gather all the moments you otherwise may have missed.
A video guest book can be any form of video + audio recording technology that captures the messages of the guests at an event. Voast, for example, uses an iPad and proprietary ring light with a unique app that allows the event host to choose prompts they want their guests to respond to. It’s simple to set up (seriously, it takes less than 5 minutes), easy-to-use, and provides a critically special view into the big day, whatever that may be.
